Welcome to LeMay!

At LeMay Elementary, we are proud to serve approximately 320 students from preschool through sixth grade. With two classes per grade level and a dedicated team of 60 staff members—including 35 certified educators—we foster an inviting environment where every child is known, supported, and celebrated.

  • Dynamic Learning Experiences: Students engage in rigorous learning experiences that challenge them to collaborate with peers, create innovative solutions, connect concepts with the surrounding world, and justify their conclusions using evidence.

  • Individualized Academic Support: We meet students where they are through tailored instruction. Our school offers specialized support for multilingual learners, targeted reading intervention, high-ability learning programs, and comprehensive special education services.

  • Community of Care: Emotional and social well-being are fundamental to student success. Our team supports the whole child through classroom guidance lessons, targeted social skills groups, individual counseling, and school social work services.

  • Special Olympics: As a recognized National Banner School for Special Olympics, we champion a culture of belonging that honors the unique abilities and value of every student. Students participate in various sports and activities throughout the year that teach teamwork, sportsmanship, and mutual respect.

  • Positive Climate: We encourage positive behavior through clear expectations and positive reinforcement. Students are celebrated for demonstrating the "LeMay Way" and for being "Caught Being LeMazing." Each quarter, we honor students at our Soaring Citizen assembly for academic achievement, positive behavior, personal improvement, leadership, and exemplary role modeling across all school settings. Student relationships with peers and staff are deepened through our 'LeMay Families,' where students meet monthly in mixed grade-level groups to complete fun, community-building activities.

  • Hands-On STEAM & Balanced Tech: Students explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in our dedicated STEAM lab. While each student has one-to-one iPad access, we maintain a balanced, intentional approach to technology. We believe excessive screen time can hinder cognitive development, attention, and critical thinking. Therefore, we limit device use in favor of rich, hands-on, face-to-face learning and meaningful interpersonal connections.
